Meeting The Team

Homeowner Trish was happy with most parts of her house but felt her ensuite looked tired and dated. She wanted to freshen up the space and create something practical and modern that she could enjoy for many years to come.
For professional support, she decided to schedule a consultation with Renovation Consultant Leigh McDonald, who listened carefully to all of her ideas and developed a thorough understanding of exactly what she wanted to achieve. With a clear picture in mind, Leigh considered ways Trish’s vision could fit with her property and budget, providing practical solutions before moving ahead into the concept design phase.

Important Considerations

Trish was concerned that it might not be possible to achieve the bathroom she wanted with the money she had available. She also needed the ensuite to be finished before Christmas. Therefore, she needed to be sure that whoever she chose to carry out the renovations would be reliable, realistic, and deliver the project within her budget.
Leigh explained to Trish what to expect when the work was taking place. She was a little concerned that she would have to move out of her bedroom and sleep in another area of her house until the work was completed but was reassured that this wouldn’t be for long.
Using his extensive experience in project management, Leigh provided an accurate estimate of the amount of time and money required to create Trish’s dream bathroom.  She was reassured that the entire renovation would be taken care of from start to finish, including ordering materials and scheduling contractors. This meant she didn’t need to worry about technicalities and could trust the work would be completed on time. Once the timescale and budget had been finalised, it was time to discuss the finer details of the transformation.

Creating A Plan

Leigh arranged for a concept to be designed to show Trish how her new bathroom would look. This also gave her the opportunity to make changes to the style or layout before any work began.
After Trish confirmed that she was happy with the concept, detailed working drawings were created, taking into account the structural, design, and decorative decisions she had made. She wanted her bathroom to have a luxurious feel and invested in high-end tapware and accessories from Reece plumbing to create her desired look.
Once the plans had been finalised, Trish was presented with a fixed quote containing a thorough breakdown of all costs associated with the project – a significant benefit of working with Refresh Renovations. Trish knew the full details of what she would pay before any work began and didn’t have to worry about any unexpected costs or additional expenses.

Bringing It To Life

Demolishing the old bathroom and fitting the new one required several different contractors, including a plumber, electrician, tiler, and cabinet maker. Leigh used his project management skills to ensure everything ran smoothly, and Trish didn’t have to spend time finding reliable contractors and coordinating them herself.
As the renovation progressed, there were some delays in getting the necessary materials delivered and contractors arriving on site due to challenges associated with Covid-19. Leigh kept Trish informed of all delays and provided regular updates on how things were progressing.
Using his excellent planning and communication skills, Leigh adjusted the contractors’ schedules to ensure everything stayed on track and was delivered on time.

A Stylish New Look

The end result was a modern and functional bathroom that exudes luxury. Trish especially loves the jade green herringbone tiling, the oversized niche above the bath, and the crisp contrast between the matte black fixtures and the white walls.
The light-coloured walls and flooring create a bright and airy space, and the arched mirror emphasises the room’s natural lighting. The bathroom looks fresh and stylish, and the deep bathtub provides the perfect place to soak away the day.
Having a well-managed team of professionals ensured that the project was completed before Christmas and did not go over budget. Employing a Renovation Consultant to manage the entire process made it a smooth and stress-free experience, and Trish now has the luxurious yet practical bathroom that she dreamed of.
