Refresh Renovations took this tired Victorian semi-detached and refreshed it with modern and stylish kitchen and bathroom designs.
The Refresh renovation specialist worked with the client to identify their design ideals, including knocking a wall down which was separating a galley kitchen from the dining room, to create an open plan kitchen diner. Part way through the design stage, the clients decided they would also like to renovate their bathroom so we tied that into the design stages of the project to ensure that the whole project was as efficient cost-wise as possible for the client.

A glossy two-tone kitchen diner design

Gorgeous two-tone grey gloss cabinets with a bespoke black glass splashback really make this kitchen wow! The monochromatic appeal of this kitchen lies in its tonality and use of space. The original galley kitchen was entirely ripped out, the wall separating the kitchen and dining room knocked down, and the space opened up into a bright and airy kitchen diner. The old rear doorway was partially bricked up to create a window and the understairs area containing the boiler was blocked off with a concertina door for tidiness and convenience.
Ashy oak style laminate wood flooring was placed throughout the ground floor to give a visual flow from room to room. The living room downstairs was also given a decor freshen up so as to not look out of place against the modernness of the new kitchen diner.
Unfortunately, we must burst the bubble and concede that the implementation of this beautiful kitchen diner was not as smooth and glossy as the cabinets themselves. A combination of a troublesome contractor and an error with the supply of the kitchen meant that the incorrect kitchen was initially supplied and fitted.  Bryony, The Renovation specialist for North Nottinghamshire, arranged for a replacement kitchen, replaced the main contractor on site and got the project back on track as quickly as possible.
The Project Manager identified swiftly the potential pitfalls associated with the project delays and amended the schedule accordingly, for example delaying the manufacturing of the bespoke black glass splashback which had been measured based on the incorrect kitchen,  whereby even a couple of mm’s on an incorrect measurement could have proved disastrous for the fitting.

An industrial chic bathroom design

During the concept and feasibility stage of the project, the client decided they would potentially like to tag on a bathroom renovation during the kitchen works. We took the client through their design options, and they settled on a stylish and industrial shower room. Patterned PVC panels in an industrial metallic aesthetic really give this bathroom a unique feel. The angular lines of the shower are offset with a perfectly circular sink and mirror. All this, combined with the ultra-modern matte black fittings gives this bathroom a high end feel without blowing the budget.

PVC Panels: A modern alternative to tiles.

PVC panels are a great option for customers looking to modernise their bathrooms without blowing the budget. This modern alternative to tiles has long been a staple of the hospitality industry, being found across hotels, restaurants and bars, but is now making its way into the domestic renovation market. PVC panels are quick to install in comparison to their labour intensive tile and grout counterparts and are well known for their easy maintenance.
Any Renovation project can encounter issues, even the best-laid plans can go awry, but with a Refresh Renovation Specialist looking after your project, you can be safe in the knowledge that your project is in the best hands and any problem encountered will be rectified swiftly and effectively.
“It was a bit of a bumpy journey getting to the completion of this project, but I am so happy that the client is over the moon with their kitchen-diner and bathroom design.” Bryony Edwards, Renovation Specialist
